About the Print Farm

We currently have six FDM (filament) 3D printers and one portable 3D scanner available for all members to use. There is also a dedicated Slicer computer with multiple slicing programs.

HackPGH has a variety of filaments available, ranging from basic PLA to flexible TPU and even Nylon filaments. And we’re not just talking boring standards like gray, black, and white—but a wide variety of filaments for purposes ranging in color and purpose.

Einstar Vega

Wireless, standalone all-in-one handheld 3D scanner

  • HD Mode uses IR MEMS technology for fine details on small objects, with a 100–350 mm working distance, up to 15 fps, and point distance down to 0.05 mm.
  • Fast Mode uses IR VCSEL technology for large objects, environments, or automotive components, with a 270–1500 mm working distance and speeds up to 20 fps.

Bambu P1S/X1C: Bambu textured PEI, smooth/engineering, and 3D-effect holographic plates; Darkmoon Satin, ICE, and CFX carbon-fiber plates; and BIQU Panda CryoGrip Pro Frostbite and Glacier plates.

Bambu H2D: Bambu textured PEI and smooth/engineering plates; Darkmoon Satin and ICE plates.

Filament

Dozens of spools are free for classes, clubs, and shop projects. Members can purchase PLA and PETG for five cents per gram, CF and GF for ten cents per gram, and engineering filaments at market rate.

Weeding & maintenance tools

The weeding table and storage include glue, scrapers, files, picks, electric rotary tools, screwdrivers, scissors, wire and filament cutters, nozzle needles, magnets, flashlights, and hex keys for weeding and model building.
